Caraline Hartfield is one stroke closer to besting her dad.

The 14-year-old hit her second career hole-in-one — her first on a par-4 — at Pelican Sound Golf and River Club last month, tying her father's number of aces.

Hartfield said she is eager to surpass him.

A freshman at The Village School of Naples, she drove the Bridgestone ball 301 yards from the tee with a Ping driver. She was too far from the hole to see where it landed.

When Hartfield got to the hole, she was worried it might have rolled into water nearby.

As a result, discovering the ball in the hole came as a surprise.

“I was very excited,” she said.

Many have been impressed with Hartfield’s feat because of the distance.

Hartfield also plays tennis, pickleball, and basketball, but golf is her favorite sport.

Now a member of the “double eagle club,” Hartfield has hopes of one day playing collegiately or even on the LPGA tour.

“I’ve just been very successful with golf,” she said. “I’ve gained a lot of confidence over the years.”

Her latest effort was just a drop in the bucket.
