The most expensive home in Collier County history sold Thursday for $62 million, shattering the old record by $10 million.

The deal for the sprawling Naples beachfront residence at 25 16th Ave. S. came together through Paul Arpin of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty.

"Its record-breaking sale price reflects the strength of the luxury real estate market," Arpin said.

Built in 2014, the 16,000-square-foot estate features six bedrooms, a glass wine room, a gourmet kitchen, a game room and a second-level pool and came furnished in the transaction.

“The elegance of this contemporary relaxed beach house was stemmed by the collaboration of the architect, the clients and the designers by the use of natural organic materials, mixed with metals, textured stones and unique decorations," said Jeffrey Strasser, former chief creative officer of Marc-Michaels Interior Design.

That company worked with Stofft Cooney Architects and Newbury North Associates Inc. to bring the mansion together eight years ago.

Buyers and sellers weren't identified by the real estate firm but public records show the house belonged to investors and philanthropists Domenic and Molly Ferrante, who have operated The Ferrante Group and The Ferrante Family Foundation. Arin worked with the Ferrantes in buying the 1.5-acre land in 2011 for $11.3 million, records show.

From 1993 to 2009, Domenic Ferrante worked at Bain Capital, where he was promoted to managing director in 1999, according to his company's data. A minority owner of the Boston Celtics, he was a co-founder of Brookside Capital, a public equity affiliate of Bain, and grew it from zero to $11 billion in managed assets during his time there.

Last year, a then-record $52 million was doled out for 2700 Gordon Drive in Port Royal.
